Nicole & Justin | Engagement Session

In the midst of this crazy pandemic, Nicole and Justin worked with me to set up their engagement session. This is one session that will go in the history books for me. Having been under the stay-at-home order and not having much opportunity to work with my couples, being outside and at a safe distance from this sweet couple literally made my month!

We met in downtown Pittsburgh in the Strip District. We knew we would be able to find some awesome places to shoot but what meant more than anything to them was to get some shots around Roland’s Seafood Grill. And, yes, this restaurant’s food is CRAZY good. . .even if you aren’t a seafood lover, like myself. However, the motivation for Roland’s being a main focus of their engagement session wasn’t just because the food is to die for. Roland’s was the site of the date where Nicole and Justin reconnected and falling in love. This sweet couple spent hours talking, laughing, (and yes) eating and this Strip District staple.

Justin is an active member of the U.S. Army and before having to leave Pittsburgh for a month, he and Nicole went for a bite at Roland’s with a huge gathering of family. Upon coming back to their table, Justin insisted Nicole not sit down and he popped the question. Nicole sweetly shared this story with me while also saying “I think so. . .I kind of blacked out.”

We also chose to spend some time at Round Hill Park in Elizabeth to capture the beauty of spring and some more rustic elements to start getting us hyped for their wedding!

Spending time with Justin and Nicole made it easy to understand the love and endless fun and laughter that these two share constantly. I hope you all enjoy a peek at some of my favorite images from their engagement session. They both work so hard and are such incredible facets of our community that I can only feel honored to be sharing so many new and gorgeous memories with them!
