When you think of Pittsburgh, boating probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. But with all three rivers framing the city and spreading out to the surrounding areas, Leah and Mike love spending the summers down at the Carousel Marina in Bunola. This sweet marina is nestled back where only those who are looking for it can find it and the community that is shared within the people there is unmatched.
If you know me. . .or saw my Instagram stories the day of Leah and Mike’s session. . .then you know floating on a raft in a pool is about as adventurous as I get when it comes to boating. It was the first time I was on a large dock in my adult life and it made for some serious comedic relief!
Leah and Mike were two of the most laidback and fun couples I have had. They were so easy to talk to and get along with. These two are the kind of people that you just want to kick back on the weekends and share a beer and some stories with. The whole session was so light-hearted and I FULLY appreciated that they didn’t make fun of me too much as I wobbled all around the dock. Typically, at engagement sessions this is my opportunity to put my couples at ease and get them comfortable in front of the camera. But Leah and Mike are just such down-to-earth people that while I was full starfish attempting to climb aboard if felt as though I was just hanging out with old friends.
Mike and Leah will be getting married this coming August. And if their engagement session is any indicator of how much laughter and fun there will be, it will undoubtedly be a blast!
